COVID-19 Relief Efforts
According to an August 2020 article in the periodical Nature, masks, class size, and hygeniene are important, but low community spread is the key factor when determining that schools can reopen safely. Conversely, in places where there is ongoing community spread, schools have become sites of major outbreaks. With these concerns in mind, One Pencil collaborated with a team of research scientists and local agencies to proactively provide face masks and other personal protective equipment and conduct educations sessions to inform communities on best practices to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Clean Water: NAMIBIA
In partnership with the Namibian Red Cross Society, we funded and coordinated the repair of two broken wells in the Ova-Twa community of Okau, thereby ensuring that these schools and their students have access to clean water.
